Strength To Move

words and music by Mitch McVicker

Well, I hold my breath and I hold on to the love
That is falling down on my shoulders
And this is all I'll ever have and it's all I'll ever become
But I work so hard to get a little further
And I don't got much to offer
So I hope it's backed by a little faith

Chorus
And I know the smallest stone can sometimes cause
A wave to grow and cross the ocean
And a little faith can somehow become
The strength to move a mountain

Oh, there's a crack in the lampshade where the light spills forth
And when I open my eyes I get lost
In a quietness that burns as it silently contorts
And I'm found within a love that's dropped
By something greater than all my passions
And now I feel just like a grain of sand

Chorus

Bridge
I want to feel just like a little child
I'm at a standstill but my hope runs wild

Chorus

Yeah, a little faith can somehow become
The strength to move a mountain
The strength to move a mountain

From Mitch:
This song came about as I was thinking about how small my faith was, but yet how God takes what little bit of faith we muster up and does miracles with it. This had been on my mind for a few weeks, and I finally finished the song as I stared at a lamp in a hotel room in New Hampshire.
