Whiteheart Favorite Song Survey Results

| Return to Scrapbook Page |

The Whiteheart Favorite Song Survey was conducted from Sept '96 thru the end of March '97. There were 395 responses to the survey. Each respondent voted for their top three favorite Whiteheart songs. I tabulated the results and they are presented below. Of course, this is by no means scientific (as I suspect few responsdents have every Whiteheart recording), just some interesting info.

Quite a few people shared (as was the case with me), that it was extremely difficult to pick only three songs, and in fact about a dozen people said "All of them", rather than trying to vote.

Rank Votes Album Song
1 76 PH Desert Rose
2 46 IN Inside
3 45 PH Independence Day
4 44 TW Unchain
5 40 FR Over Me
6 39 HI Heaven Of My Heart
7 36 FR Let The Kingdom Come
8 33 TW His Heart Was Always In It
9 32 TW Light A Candle
10 31 HI Once And For All
11 29 PH Powerhouse
12 25 DWM How Many Times (Seventy Times Seven)
13 24 HI Nothing But The Best
14 (Tie) 23 TW Gabriela
14 (Tie) 23 FR Sing Your Freedom
16 21 DWM Fly, Eagle, Fly
17 19 HI The Flame Passes On
18 18 FR The River Will Flow
19 16 FR I'll Meet You There
20 15 FR Invitation

Remember, this is just the top twenty ranked songs, not all of the those receiving votes. Just for fun I've listed below how each of the Whiteheart albums ranked by votes received per song. In other words, every time an album's song got a vote, the album got a vote. Again ... not very scientific, but interesting.

Rank Votes Album
1 186 Freedom (1989 - Sparrow Records)
2 178 Powerhouse (1990 - Star Song Records)
3 168 Tales Of Wonder (1992 - Star Song Records)
4 144 Highlands (1993 - Star Song Records)
5 109 Inside (1995 - Curb Records)
6 75 Don't Wait For The Movie (1986 - Sparrow Records)
7 27 Emergency Broadcast (1987 - Sparrow Records)
8 21 Hotline (1985 Home Sweet Home Records, Inc.)
9 (Tie) 4 Vital Signs (1984 Home Sweet Home Records/Myrrh)
9 (Tie) 4 White Heart (1982 Home Sweet Home Records/Myrrh)

An honorable mention goes to "Little Drummer Boy" which got 14 of the votes not accounted for in the album list. Therefore it should technically put the album Christmas (1988 - Sparrow Records, Sparrow Artists Christmas album) at Number 9 on the list. Since that was not a Whiteheart album, and I didn't include any of the compilation albums (for obvious reasons), we'll leave it like it is.

Just for the record, the four previously unreleased songs, two each on Nothing But The Best - Rock Classics (1994 Star Song Records) and Nothing But The Best - Radio Classics (1994 Star Song Records) (the only two official Whiteheart compilations) each received votes, but not enough to affect either list.
