I had the priviledge of seeing Mitch and Brad in concert three times this past
weekend. What an incredible experience! Mitch and Brad are the nicest guys
you would ever want to meet. I ran into the guy that did the sound for the
concert at my church on Saturday night and he said that it was so enjoyable to
work with Mitch and Brad. They definitely touched many people over the course
of the weekend. But I am getting ahead of myself...

I drove about an hour to the concert on Friday in Mankato, MN. The concert was
pretty good. Mitch had guitar trouble and the sound system wasn't great. It
took them awhile to get into a groove. Here is the set list:

One of These Days
Gospel Rain
Right Here With Me (? not sure about the title)
Hope
It Won't Take Long (great song with Brad playing mandola)
Here and Now
Heaven is Waiting
There You Are
My Hope is Built on Nothing Less
Take Hold of Me
Freedom
Burning the Fields (? title)
My Deliverer
Rich's Song
Lemonade Song
Someday

The fun really started the next day. Mitch and Brad got to my church about
10:30 on Saturday morning. We set everything up and then went to a friend's
house for lunch. It was great to sit down and be able to chat with them. They
sang at a bookstore Saturday afternoon and then we headed back to my church
for the 5pm service. They were right on the whole night. The set list was the
same as Friday except they added It Is Well (instrumental) in the middle of
the concert and New Mexico and Step by Step were encores. Brad also shared
some interesting facts about cockroaches and insect legs in chocolate. :)
There were about 125 people at the concert, which was not as many as I had
hoped, but the people who were there really appreciated Mitch and the music.
It was awesome!

They sang at my church again on Sunday morning during the Bible study and late
church service. We (Daniel, Amy and Ethan Boucek and I) took them to the Mall
of America for lunch. We ate at Cafe Odyssey in the Manchu Picchu (I don't
think I spelled that quite right) room. It is decorated like it is in the
mountains of Peru. Neat place to eat and the food was pretty good.

They sang at the Boucek's church Sunday night and again did a great job. The
set was very similar and ended with a couple praise songs.

I really got spoiled seeing them three nights in a row. It is almost hard to
listen to the CD again because I like the concert version of the songs better.
I would highly recommend buying the new CD. Mitch's version of My Deliverer
is worth buying the CD.

To sum it all up, I wouldn't trade this last weekend for anything. It was
wonderful to get to know Mitch and Brad. They are amazing, God-filled men.
Work was a huge disappointment after such an incredible weekend. Mitch is back
up in this neck of the woods in November and I am hoping to be there.

God is working mightily through Mitch and Brad. I pray He continues to do
so. If Mitch is performing in your area, try to see him. You won't regret
it.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

P.S.
Mitch and Brad got to read many of the concert reviews on Sunday night (they
stayed with Boucek's) and I think Mitch printed many of them off so he could
have them. He didn't know that there are prayers posted for each concert and
now the 18th is set aside each month to pray and fast for them. I think he
was touched to know that all of this happens.
