In His Own Words A New CD

Dear Friends,

Since mid-November, I've had the good fortune of playing a few concerts and then stopping for a break around Thanksgiving. In December, I began work on recording my second album and then stopped for the holidays. I'm planning on resuming recording in mid-January. So far, the album is coming together wonderfully--even better than I expected!! I think the production, engineering, playing, and writing are much better; so I'm really excited to get it completed!

I feel really good about the songs that I have decided to record. I have been playing some of them in concert, now, for quite some time; so it is good to have them documented and recorded. I have included songs such as "Upside Down", "When You Love", "Burning the Fields", and "Rich's Song". There will also be eight more songs that I really like (and I'm hoping that someone else will like them, too).

The album is being produced by Mark Robertson of This Train and, also, of the Ragamuffin Band. Mark co-produced my first album with Rich Mullins. He is doing an unbelievable job! His knowledge of creating sonic art is amazing. Jordan Richter, also of This Train, is doing the engineering. His work has also been amazing. The sounds that he is able to bring about never cease to blow my mind! Mark and Jordan are true artists, in the sense that they are bringing a lot to music that sounds nothing like their own.

Dennis Holt plays the drums. Mark Robertson plays bass. Phil Maderia plays everything from electronic guitar to organ to piano. He is a very talented musician! Brad Layher plays acoustic guitar, hammered dulcimer, and sings back-up vocals. I am singing, playing harmonica, and playing some acoustic guitar. Steve Hindalong plays percussion and brought "a ton" to the album. There are various other instruments that still nedd to be added, as well. I feel very fortunate to have had the quality of people working on the album, that I have had. What a blessing!!

Please pray for me, as I am trying to discern God's will for my life. What a hard thing that is to know! I am in a transitional time in my life, and I would love some peace.

Thank you all so much for your support!! I am very thankful. I'll "talk" to you soon.

Peace of Christ,

Mitch
